Footprint Introduction

Description: We traced our footprint and used it to introduce ourselves to the class. We were to include our name, use at least three types of media, and create symbols to represent aspects of our lives. We could use any media and create any symbols we wanted. Some supplies we could have used were crayons, markers, paint, pom poms, pipe cleaners, etc.

Stingray- I swam for 8 years for the Aberdeen Swim Club Stingrays.
Cross- I work at Aldersgate Church Preschool. My faith is very important to me.
Heart & Initials- My family is very close. I have 2 siblings & 3 cousins.
Paw Print- I have a dog named Moses.
Propel- I like to drink Propel & Gatorade.
Lightning Bolt- I don't enjoy thunderstorms.
Football- I enjoy watching football.
Guard Tube & Eyes- I am a lifeguard in the summer.
Scoopie Token- I love Culvers.
Gold Star- My family has season tickets to home NDSU football games.

Extension Activity: As a future teacher, I could extend this activity by having my students use their footprints to measure the length of a table, desk, cabinet, etc in groups. The groups would use the biggest footprint in the group and the smallest to measure the object. Before the students measure, they would estimate how many footprints of each size it would take to reach the other side of the object.
